| Your Pool Pump is an Energy Hog! |
You weren't raised in a barn.
You wouldn't leave your front door open with your air conditioning on. Why? Because AC is expensive and leaving the door open means money is flying out - along with that nice cool air. Running your pool pump more than it needs is a lot like leaving that front door open. Or, imagine every light in your home being left on while you're not there. That would be enough to drive most people crazy. A pool pump (1500W) uses the same amount of energy as thirty (30) lightbulbs (50W). Ouch! Your pool pump is a huge energy hog, humming away in your backyard, saying "hello" once a month - on your electric bill.
Taming the beast.
Pools have changing needs throughout the year and frequently do not need as much filtration in the winter as in the summer. TightWatt takes advantage of this to save you time and money. It's easy with our exclusive 'summer' and 'winter' settings:
Step 1: Set your 'Summer' run time
-
Step 2: Set your 'Winter' run time
That's all there is to it. For example, you may set your 'summer' run time to 9 hours and your 'winter' run time to 3 hours. Your pump would run 9 hours each cycle from June 1st to September 15th. It would gradually turn down (according to the TightWatt schedule) through the fall and run three hours each cycle from December 1st to February 15th. After that, it would start turning up again to complete it's year-round schedule. You can run either one or two cycles per day. 'Summer' and 'Winter' run settings are determined by you (or your pool professional) to meet the specific needs of the pool.

A TightWatt timer can save $690 in three years alone** with its efficient, year-round schedule.
It has been designed to snap into most cases making installation a breeze. Flexible manual run times with our 'one-touch' operation give you control over your pool that isn't possible with a mechanical 24-hour clock.
The TightWatt2 Two-Speed Pool Controllers save even more money by taking advantage of Two-speed pool pump technology. Two-speed pool pumps are essentially a conventional pool pump with an additional low-speed mode. The low-speed filters your pool water more efficiently meaning your pool will cost you less to operate. Another benefit is your pool pump will run more quietly (in the low-speed mode). Two-speed pool pumps save so much energy that California is mandating two/multi-speed pumps beginning in 2008.

This graph shows one example of possible energy savings. Your results may vary.
